In this post we'll walk you through the process of using AdSense setting up an account and navigating its features.
So let's get started First let's talk about how YouTube creators use AdSense. When you become a part of the YouTube Partner Program having an AdSense account is essential to getting paid.
AdSense is a separate Google product that allows people and companies to run ads on their websites and receive payment.
As a YouTube creator you'll mainly use AdSense as a payment tool for the money you earn from ads on your videos YouTube Premium Memberships Super Chat Super Stickers and more.
Now let is move on to setting up an AdSense account.
Once you are eligible to apply for the YouTube Partner Program we will ll guide you through creating and connecting your AdSense account as part of the application process.
If you are not yet eligible we recommend waiting until you meet the requirements before creating an AdSense account.
When you are ready to apply sign in to YouTube Studio on desktop go to the Monetization section in the left menu and review and accept the YouTube Partner Program terms.
Then click Start on the Sign up for Google AdSense card.
Choose a Google account you want to useing for the AdSense.
If you already have an approved AdSense account for other purposes sign in with that account. Avoid creating a new account if you already have an existing one to prevent delays in the application process.
Remember you can link multiple channels to a single AdSense account.
Once you're in AdSense you'll need to provide your personal information including your address. It's crucial to enter your payment address and payee name accurately because we'll mail you important verification documents during the setup process. Double-check everything before submitting. After submitting you'll be taken back to YouTube Studio where you'll see a message confirming receipt and approval of your AdSense account.
Now that your AdSense account is set up and approved let is discuss the remaining steps before you start getting paid.
First you will need to provide your tax information.
Sign in to AdSense using your initial Google account go to Payments then "Manage Setting and scroll to "Payments Profile.
Click Edit next to "United States tax info" and then "Manage Tax Info.
This tax information is required for all monetizing creators on YouTube regardless of your location. Follow the steps to complete the appropriate tax form. If you're unsure about the forms consult a tax advisor.
Next confirm your personal information. This includes verifying your payment address and in some cases your identity. Once your earnings reach the address verification threshold (usually $10) we'll mail you a PIN (personal identification number) to your payment address. Enter the PIN in your AdSense account to complete the verification process. If the PIN doesn't arrive after four weeks ensure your account information is correct and request another PIN if needed. If you're required to verify your identity follow the instructions sent via email and available in YouTube Studio's "Payment" section.
Now it's time to select and set up your form of payment. Once you reach the payment method selection threshold (varies by location and currency) go to AdSense click "Payments" and then "Add Payment Method." Choose the appropriate payment option based on your payment address such as a check electronic funds transfer or wire transfer.
Finally to receive payment you'll need to meet the payment threshold.
This is the amount your account balance must reach before getting paid
For example in the US the threshold is $100
Once your balance exceeds the threshold and you have no payment holds your earnings will be paid out between the 21st and 26th of the current month.

Now that you're all set up let's take a tour of your AdSense account. When you sign in you'll land on the AdSense for YouTube home page where you can view a snapshot of your YouTube earnings and access more detailed data in YouTube Analytics. The "Payments" tab is important for managing payments and payment settings. Remember that starting in early 2022 YouTube earnings will appear in a dedicated YouTube payments account.
